In war, soldiers need to wear body armor to protect themselves from a direct hit by bullets and or projectiles that are shot at them. Before modern day warfare brought about lightweight armor to protect soldiers, there was the armor worn by warriors of old.

The word armor (or ‘armour’ as spelled by the British) was introduced in the Middle Ages. The word itself comes from the Old French word ‘armoire’ which was derived from the Latin word ‘armatura’ meaning arms and/ or equipment. The root of the word ‘arma’ means “arms or gear”.

Armor such as Cuirasses and helmets were manufactured in Japan as early as the 4th century to give protection to the soldiers on the battlefield. When the armor did not always cover the whole body, a large shield would be used just like ones used by the Aztec armies. Of course the most recognized style of armor is the plate armor associated with the knights of the European Late Middle Ages. This would the armor that we see when we watch movies where the knight kills the dragon. Armor is very important to protect soldiers from being killed. Without body armor, the chances of a soldier being killed would be higher than when they wore the armor.

In this last age, the age of the Holy Spirit, when the devil is attacking us with all kinds of lies, rumors and temptations, we must put on the full armor of God. We need to protect ourselves from everything the devil throws at us. Without the armor of God we are more susceptible to sustain a spiritual injury which could end up with a catastrophic result in the spiritual battle. We must also be ready to fight back. That is why Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother always tell us sharpen our spiritual swords, the word of God. In this battle against the powers of the dark, not only do we need to protect ourselves but also our loving brothers and sisters. And the way to do that, is to keep the new covenant, be unified with brothers and sisters, practice righteousness to all humans and have one hundred percent faith in Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother.
