Feast of Trumpets (New Covenant – Christ Ahnsahnghong)
The New Covenant Feast of Trumpets – Christ Ahnsahnghong
The Feast of Trumpets in the age of the Holy Spirit is the beginning of the spiritual harvest time for gathering the autumn crops into the heavenly barn. In the Old Testament, on the first day of the seventh month in the sacred calendar, the Israeli people held a sacred assembly, blowing loudly on their trumpets, to prepare for the Day of Atonement (Lev 23:24).
The Feast of Trumpets originated when God commanded the Israeli people to commemorate the Day of Atonement every year, the day on which Moses received the 2nd tablets of stone, inscribed with the Ten Commandments, and came down from Mount Sinai. Following God’s command, the people of Israel prepared for the Day of Atonement, with loud trumpets blasts for 10 days up until the Day of Atonement. In this way, they were reminded of the day and repented from the bottom of their hearts for the sins they had committed during the year.
Everything written in the past, the Old Testament, is a shadow of the things to come. The Feast of Trumpets is also a shadow. It showed there would be a Movement for Jesus’ 2nd Coming, which William Miller led, from 1834-1844. The 10 days from the Feast of Trumpets to the Day of Atonement is a representation of 10 years prophetically (Ezek. 4:6). The Advent movement of Jesus’ 2nd Coming fulfilled the prophecy of the Feast of Trumpets, in preparation for the Day of Atonement – October 22, 1844, the 10th day of the 7th month (sacred calendar)- the day on which Jesus entered the Most Holy Place in heaven. Just like the Israelite people blowing on the trumpets, the people who believed in the 2nd Coming of Jesus shouted about Jesus’ 2nd Coming like trumpet blasts. Starting from the 1st day of the 7th month, 1844 (sacred calendar), all the saints prayed together to God with eagerness. Jesus answered their prayers and entered the Most Holy Place in heaven on October 22nd, 1844, the Day of Atonement – the 10th day of the 7th month (sacred calendar). God carried out the Advent Movement through William Miller in fulfillment of this prophecy. We can clearly see that God fulfills His will in a way His people would unlikely expect if they don’t understand His will and put into effect. Just as it is written:
Luke 19:37-40 …”I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
The Movement for Jesus 2nd Coming was set in motion by people who had no knowledge about the feasts of God, but the fruit of their work was the fulfillment of the prophecy of the Feast of Trumpets. When we keep the Feast of Trumpets with one mind and eagerly pray to God for 10 days up to the Day of Atonement, our prayers will ascend like the smoke of incense before the throne of God (Rev 8:3-4). God will answer our prayers and bestow upon us tremendous blessings.
The World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) celebrates the New Covenant Feast of Trumpets which was established by Christ Ahnsahnghong in the age of the Holy Spirit.
