How much do you know about your soul?

Our God has hidden the long and deep story of our souls in the law of the city of refuge. The law is as follows:

Numbers 35:9~32 Then the LORD said to Moses: “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you cross the Jordan into Canaan, select some towns to be your cities of refuge…. from the avenger, so that a person accused of murder may not die before he stands trial before the assembly…. These six towns will be a place of refuge for Israelites…so that anyone who has killed another accidentally can flee there….. or if in hostility he hits him with his fist so that he dies, that person shall be put to death; he is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him. But if without hostility someone suddenly shoves another or throws something at him unintentionally….The assembly must protect the one accused of murder from the avenger of blood and send him back to the city of refuge to which he fled. He must stay there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil….The accused must stay in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest; only after the death of the high priest may he return to his own property…. “‘Do not accept a ransom for anyone who has fled to a city of refuge and so allow him to go back and live on his own land before the death of the high priest.

Summary:

1. The cities of refuge are for the people who killed someone accidentally.

2. The murderers with intention are to be put to death although they flee from there.

3. The sinners in the cities of refuge are allowed to go back to their homes only after the high priest dies.

4. Ransom cannot be accepted. (No way to be freed except the death of the high priest.)

The book of Hebrews says the Law of Moses is a shadow to show the spiritual things.

Hebrews 10:1 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming…

Then, who is the reality of the high priest anointed with holy oil, the key for a sinner’s freedom in the city of refuge?

Daniel 9:24~26  …to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy…the Anointed One…

“The most holy” is God, and “the Anointed One” means Messiah in the Hebrew language or Christ in Greek. That is, God will come as Christ to this earth. As you know well, He is Jesus. When Jesus came, His title was high priest.

Hebrews 5:8~10 … he (Jesus) became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.

So, Jesus is the reality of the high priest who was anointed with holy oil, mentioned in the law of the city of refuge.

Just as a murderer imprisoned in the city of refuge could be free through the death of the high priest, we can be saved through the death of Jesus, who was sacrificed on our behalf.

Consequently, we are the reality of the murderers in the city of refuge, and this earth itself is the city of refuge for sinners. We must have committed serious sins before coming here. Then, where were we expelled from? What place is our actual home country?

Hebrews 11:13~16 All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country–a heavenly one…

Every soul’s home country is the heaven. If we wish to return there, we must know the meaning of the death of Jesus.

1Peter 1:18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

We can be saved only with the precious blood of Christ which He shed on the cross.

Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins…

We can be forgiven our sins only through Jesus’ blood which He shed under the pain of death. What does it mean “with” or “through”? Does it mean just belief in mind? How does it apply to us? We must know this truth to go back to our heavenly home.

We can find the answer in Jesus’ title.

Jesus is the high priest in the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 5:8~10). What is the order of Mechizedek?

Genesis 14:18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, and he blessed Abram, saying, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.

Mechizedek recorded in the book of Genesis was only priest to bless with bread and wine in that age, and this is shadow to tell about Jesus in the age of the new covenant.

Matthew 26:26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

On the Passover day Jesus blessed us with bread and wine. His blood promised to us is the Passover wine. So,”through his blood” or “in the order of Mechizedek” means Jesus saves us through the Passover.

But for a long time, nobody knew about it. In this age who recovered the truth of the Passover and brought it again for us to return to our eternal home? He is Father, Christ Ahnshanghong and Heavenly Mother, God the Mother. They have been teaching us to keep the Passover holy every year. Let’s follow our Savior, God the Father and God the Mother till the end and go back heavenly home without fail. God bless you!
