Day of Atonement – Christ Ahnsahnghong

Day of Atonement – Christ Ahnsahnghong

The Day of Atonement is the 10th day of the 7th month in the sacred calendar, and it’s the day on which all the sins that the Jewish people committed during the course of a year, were atoned for (Lev. 23:27). This is a feast that our Father, Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother created for us to be forgiven of our sins that we committed within a year.

The origin of the Day of Atonement dates back to when the people of God were brought out from Egypt, and spent 40 years living in the desert. When they arrived at Mount Sinai, God called Moses up to Mount Sinai. Moses fasted for 40 days and nights, and then was given the 10 Commandments. However, the people assumed that Moses was dead because he hadn’t come down from the mountain and they thought, ‘who in this world could go 40 days and nights without food and live.’ They decided to make a god to lead them to Canaan. So the Israeli people made a golden calf and worshiped the idol. When Moses came down from meeting with God, he was shocked and appalled that the people were worshiping an idol and he broke the 10 Commandments. He melted the golden calf in the fire, ground it to powder, scattered it on the water and made the Israeli people drink it. On that day, more than 3000 people died by the sword. The people who sinned against God by worshiping the golden calf, repented of their sins and seeing how earnestly they were repenting God called Moses again to give him a new set of 10 Commandments. This was God’s way to show that He had forgiven them of their sins. The day on which Moses received the 2nd set of 10 commandments was the Day of Atonement (Ex 32:1-35).

In the Old Testament times, 2 goats were to be sacrificed to God. 1 goat for God the other was to be a scapegoat. The scapegoat was sent into the wilderness to die in the desert. All the sins of the people accumulated in the sanctuary, were transferred to the scapegoat on the Day of Atonement, and the scapegoat was sent into the desert to die. This shows that our sins, temporarily carried by Christ – the reality of the sanctuary, will be transferred to Satan through the feasts like the Passover and the Day of Atonement. Satan will carry the burden of all the sins and will be destroyed in the Abyss (represented as the desert). If you want to know more about the Day of Atonement please see Lev 16:6-22.

The high priest would enter the Most Holy Place only once a year. That was on the Day of Atonement.

Heb 9:7 But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.

The prophecy of the Day of Atonement is that the People’s sins, were transferred to the scapegoat on the Day of Atonement, then the goat would be sent to the desert to die.

The fullfillment of the prophecy is that our sins, will be transferred to Satan represented by the scapegoat, on the Day of Atonement, then Satan will be tormented in hell and destroyed forever.

Our Father Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother have established the Day of Atonement to be kept at the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) so that the children of God can receive the forgiveness of sins and go to the eternal kingdom of heaven. We give thanks, praise, glory and honor to our God, Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother for their eternal and unfathomable love.
