In this age that we are living, electric lamps or artificial lights have become developed. So, many people live without thinking about the existence of the moon. Indeed, does it matter if there’s no moon?
What is the moon 
to the earth?
Let’s imagine what would happen if we didn’t have the moon. First of all, the ebb and flow of the tide would disappear. Then, the marine ecosystems would suffer a fatal blow and the sea’s purification of the beaches would cease to exist. It would affect the whole earth tremendously. Elohim God (Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother) has given us just the right amount of ebb and flow of the tide and put the moon in charge of it.
Let’s think about the reason the tide ebbs and flows as much as it does. Between the earth and the moon it feels like there’s nothing however it seems like someone is whirling the moon, from the center of the earth once a day suspended on a string. It’s why the three – the earth’s rotation period, the moon’s rotation period and the moon’s revolution period – are precisely 24 hours. This is also the reason that the reverse side of the moon will never be seen from the earth.
The moon is a satellite of the earth. But astronomers say that it isn’t every planet that can spontaneously have a satellite like the moon. It’s because the moon is too big when considering the earth’s size. But it has to be that size in order to push and pull the earth; the result is the tide that happens.
The moon, being that size, and the earth go in circles at a fixed distance facing each other and that creates the centrifugal force and universal gravitation. How amazing is the providence of the Creator Elohim God (Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother), who has allowed people to live in their great plan of salvation! If you give a little bit of attention to God’s creation, the moon, that appears every night, you can’t help but feel the existence of God who has planned all things and is managing them.
