Time just flies. It’s already May and the weather is getting hotter these days. Many areas are now experiencing unusual weather phenomena. From time to time but not always, the highest temperatures are well up to the thirties, which in turn makes me wear heavy makeup.
Before leaving the house, the only thing I should not forget is to wear sunblock and the reason is that I need to protect my skin from ultraviolet rays. Extended exposure to ultraviolet radiation can result in serious skin cancer.
Actually, we are all exposed to the dangers of skin cancer, for the earth’s protective ozone layer is being depleted. In that sense, the ozone layer is important as it protects the Earth from damaging ultraviolet rays of the sun. Without the ozone layer, people can find themselves in a fatal condition.
Come to think of it, there are many risk factors that could endanger us while living on the earth just like ultraviolet rays threaten the earth’s surface. We are facing many hardships and temptations and they must be the things to overcome for sure. However, it is not easy to go against and ignore those earthly values and goals. We are surrounded by all kinds of temptations and seductive excuses and it is even difficult to discern if they belong to God or Satan and try to lure us or not.
Rom. 12:2 “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
In this last age, we are all exposed to the dangers of spiritually evil and wicked factors in various fields. By putting us in front of them, Satan tries to weaken our spirits so we could be easily tempted and end up losing our self-control. What is more serious is that the weaker our spirits and minds are, the worse the power of Satan becomes; it is the truth we don’t want to accept at all. Moreover, when it comes to the ethical or moral issues, it worsens the matter; they are all caused by the power of Satan.
1 Cor.6:15-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
As written in the Bible, we should acknowledge we are the temple of God and ought to honor God with our body.
Matt. 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
Through the grace and mercy given to us, Father Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother led us to the Zion (World Mission Society Church of God – WMSCOG) where Gods’ feasts are celebrated by His chosen people. The church-Zion (WMSCOG) is where we repent our former unforgivable sins and are born again to be a new person day by day. That is, we should not bring any earthly and/or secular things into Zion (WMSCOG).
As chosen children of God who are being taught through the 13 teachings of Heavenly Mother, we should be transformed into one who is godly and devout not only inside but outside of the church as well. The given words of God we read and hear every day in Zion (WMSCOG) is the best weapon to fight against all kinds of earthly temptations. Even though there are unchanging immovable pains and hardships standing firmly in front of us, let us all long for the everlasting blessings and happiness that will be given in the kingdom of heaven.
